Carbon-free and nuclear-free : a roadmap for U.S. energy policy / Arjun Makhijani ; foreword by S. David Freeman ; afterword by Helen Caldicott.
In a world confronting global climate change, political turmoil among oil exporting nations, nuclear weapons proliferation, nuclear plant safety and waste disposal issues, the United States must assume a leadership role in moving to a zero-CO2 emissions energy economy. This is one of the most important issues that the scientific community is trying to work together with the government on. It is something that will affect us all as humans living on this earth. This is a book that brings forth the ideas and the knowledge we need to make ourselves more eco-conscious. We will be able to see how we can meet our energy needs using alternative sources, such as wind, solar, biomass, microalgae, geothermal and wave power. This book is sure to be one of the steps to get us closer to a cleaner and healthier environment.
