On the trapline

Robertson, David 1977- (author.). Flett, Julie, (illustrator.).

Summary: "A boy and his moshom take a trip into the northern wilderness to visit the trapline where many years ago his grandpa and family lived off the land. To get there, they take a plane ride, walk on forest paths and travel in a small motorboat. Along the way, Moshom points to places he remembers. His eyes light up when they get to his trapline. There they fish in the lake and pick berries to eat. Moshom tells the boy what it was like going to school after living on the trapline. And the warmth of sharing a tent with his family in the winter. They talk about lots of things and sometimes not at all. On the Trapline is a poignant story that explores the deep connection a boy and his grandpa have with the land and each other."--Jacket
