Mighty mountain / Archie Binns.
In the early 1850's, Elmer Hale has come to the Puget Sound on the barque Maid out of Fairhaven, Massachusetts, having left the sea forever and dropping anchor beneath the distant shadow of the mighty mountain, Rainier. Here, guided in the ways of the new western world by his uncle, Elmer files a claim for three hundred and fifty acres and begins his new life.
