How to dance Native American style beginning steps
Basic-level instruction in Native American powwow dancing. The lesson begins with a demonstration of the differences between southern- and northern-style music. War dance songs in both styles are taught to better enable the student to follow the music. The basic men's and women's steps are taught with attention to both footwork and body posture. Examples of different styles of dancing are illustrated through footage of actual powwows, and the lesson concludes with pointers on powwow etiquette.
