Beda translates from the Northern Lushootseed, Skagit languages, and means: My child. This booklet describes that special relationship between mother and child as the word Beda also describes that relationship. The title of this booklet, Beda, was selected after the interview with Irene Siddle. She revealed that her grandson, Augustus Siddle, age 6, uses the word to understand the role in the family, that he is his mother's child.
