Powell, Director, originally published by the Government Printing Office, Washington, D.C., in 1893. The first section of the original volume, "Report of the director," has been omitted in the present edition, except for a few pages referring directly to the Accompanying paper. The original edition (Report plus Accompanying paper) was in one volume. The present edition (unabridged) Accompanying paper and excerpt from Report) is in two volumes"--T.p. verso.
