Summary:

In the spring and summer of 1904, St. Louis hosted a world's fair to commemorate the centennial of the Louisiana Purchase. The fair featured an extravagant exposition of America's economic and artistic resources, including extensive and controversial exhibits of some 2,000 native people brought to the city for anthropological display. Interviews with attendees and historians, archival footage and photographs all depict the social, political, cultural context and concerns of American society and the larger world community during the Fair's time.
