The Great Tribal Leaders of Modern Times interview series offers oral histories of contemporary native leaders who have played vital roles in their people's struggles for sovereignty, self-determination and treaty rights. This DVD focuses on Gay Kingman who is a Cheynne River Sioux and has spent more than twenty-five years working as a teacher, principal and college president. In addition to discussing her efforts to improve Indian access to education, Kingman also talks about her time as the executive director of the National Congress of American Indians as press relations director of the National Indian Gaming Associaton.
