Bangladesh: Community health clinics struggle to cope with massive cholera epidemics which strike nearly half a million Bangladeshis and claim 25,000 lives. United States: Travel, commerce and tourism have brought infectious diseases to the doorstep of the West, resulting in new emerging public health threats such as West Nile Virus. Is this a harbinger of things to come?
