The Great Tribal Leaders of Modern Times interview series offers oral histories of contemporary native leaders who have played vital roles in their people's struggles for sovereignty, self-determination, and treaty rights. This DVD focuses on Roy Sampsel, who is both Choctaw and Wyandot, and and is the director of the Institute for Tribal Government. Sampsel discusses his belief that Native Americans are in a unique position to manage natural resources, as well as his willingness to act as a go between for tribal, state, federal and local agencies.
